Women’s Activewear Trends

December 28, 2017

Now that it’s a new year and the holidays are over, why not head to the gym in gear that you feel good in? Find out what’s trending in activewear this season so you can rev up your winter workouts and slay in style.

Hot Hues

Fun tropical colors aren’t just for summertime. Brighten up your winter activewear with trendy hot hues like neon pink, electric blue, and galactic purple (Ultraviolet is Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year, after all!). A zip-up athletic jacket and a new pair of running shoes in matching hot hues will make exercising a lot more exciting.

Stylish Baseball Caps

Baseball caps are fashionable this season, and they won’t just keep your hair out of your face or the winter sunshine out of your eyes – they’ll also keep your head a little warmer, especially if you like to get active outdoors. An understated black baseball cap looks sporty and sleek with a bold colored athletic hoodie. Suede and faux leather baseball caps are also super trendy and will elevate your style game even more.

Mesh Details

When it comes to activewear, mesh details are truly trendier than ever. Chic and athletic, mesh details show a hint of skin while still keeping you warm enough to exercise outdoors. You can go subtle and choose a pair of leggings with small mesh cutouts around the calves or across the knees. Or, you can fully embrace the trend and find leggings that rock mesh cutouts all over for an edgier look.

Creative prints like exotic snakeskin, busy florals, and swirling watercolors are another trend currently taking over the activewear world. From sports bras to leggings to sneakers and jackets, all your favorite workout gear is available in energetic and unique prints. If you prefer to wear neutral colors while you exercise, prints are also a great way to add some flair to your activewear without looking too loud.

Warm Accessories

It’s wintertime, so even though you might be breaking a sweat that doesn’t mean your hands and ears won’t still get cold. A warm fleece headband or beanie, an infinity scarf, and running gloves will do the trick if the temperature drops. Although black never goes out of style, stay on trend by choosing your accessories in marled patterns (we like gray blended with black, or pastel shades with white). Just make sure your gloves are touchscreen-friendly so you don’t have to remove them during your workout.

For extra workout wardrobe points, add a fashionable new gym bag to your ensemble so you can tote your gear around in style. And remember to always keep hydrated: a high-quality water bottle in your favorite color is also a must-have!
